Guarantee of Workmanship

Our logo is our guarantee of workmanship covered by our 50 year structural guarantee. Upon completion of your oven, please email your details to this site and we will send you a bronze logo (see image left) which you are to attach to the door of your oven. This is provided to you free by Pizza Ovens Australia and is a symbol of authenticity that you have an oven constructed by Pizza Ovens Australia. Your oven is not covered by our guarantee if you do not register your oven within 90 days of its completion.

Firing the Oven:

Upon completion of your oven, you must wait at least 2 weeks (preferably 4 weeks) to allow for the drying out (curing) of the oven before firing it. If the oven is not completely dry, the premature firing of the oven may result in cracks appearing on the surface of the structure, which is not covered by our structural guarantee. The structure is visibly dry to fire if the internal mortar joints of the oven are whitish in appearance after the 2 week drying time. ‘Forcing’ the drying of the structure by placing a fan heater inside the oven is recommended.

Cracking of the external surface of the oven does not affect the structural integrity of the oven or its efficiency. Cracking can be concealed by a further coating with a lime wash made up of 4 parts lime to 1 part white cement mixed with water, made to a thick consistency similar to pancake batter.

On lighting your first fire, the fire should remain small and burn no longer than 35 minutes (lit in the centre of the oven), spreading any ash over the base of the hearth. The oven should then be allowed to cool naturally and refired the following 2 days using the same method.

Your oven is now ready to be enjoyed.
